Shefford Slate Tables

In the summer of 2014, I will be taking part in an expedition to the Indian Himalayas, along with classmates from Newport Free Grammar School.

 

Located in the north east of India, the Spitti Valley is 10,000 ft. above sea level, rising to 20,000 ft. at mountain peaks. For much of the winter and spring, the Spitti valley is cut off from the outside world, and it is very difficult to grow crops there. To help the people of the region, we will be building ‘greenhouses’, so that food can be grown throughout the year.

 

It will also be an amazing opportunity to experience a very different way of life and to trek in the Himalayas.

 

In order to fund my trip, I am making and selling oak framed slate topped tables. These are suitable to leave on your patio or terrace all year round and are perfect for barbeques, parties and special occasions.
